Patrick Reed is probably one of the most controversial professionals in the golf world. The golf star has been in the news for his alleged ‘cheating’ accusations from officials as well as his fans. However, it doesn’t change the fact that the player has made numerous commendable records during his career. In fact, he once impressed the world with his performances so much, that he ended up receiving an honor most players could only wish for!
However, his high pedestal seems to be in danger as per the ongoing LIV Golf vs DP World Tour controversies. And golf fans are probably wondering how the squabble is going to affect Reed’s huge feat.

Reed’s huge career achievement catches the red zone
For those unaware, Patrick Reed is currently one of the only four American players to have received an honorary lifetime membership to the European Tour. It is certainly safe to call this a major achievement, considering that the other three legends to receive the honor include Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, and Tom Watson.

Not to mention, the golf star won the 2018 Masters Tournament and made his name known to millions of fans worldwide. After receiving the huge honor, Reed said, “For the European Tour to have faith in me and give me this opportunity means everything.” After all, it was a pretty unexpected yet massive decision on the tour’s part.

However, the current scenario between Reed and the DP World Tour is not as good as it was back in 2019. After his controversial LIV Golf decision, the golfer has certainly parted ways with the Tour. In fact, the Tour recently imposed huge fines on European defectors for their participation in LIV Golf tournaments.

On the contrary, fans are aware of how rough things have been between the Saudi League and the European Tour. Hence, there is a high chance of Reed losing his hard-earned DP World Tour lifetime membership!
