How did they meet then? Well, they ran into each other for the first time at Laguna Beach in California. “We went to the same birthday party and run into each other. I went back to Argentina, but then 20 days later, I came back and that was it,” Val recounted while speaking to GOLF.com about her husband’s heroics at the 2023 PGA Championship. “I was wearing a sash and he just grabbed me by the sash.” The pair eventually tied the knot 18 years ago.

However, Val wasn’t the only one who offered the world a glimpse into their love story. During the 2023 major, the golfer had lovingly spoken about his “Argentinian-Italian fireball” of a wife, referring to her as the person who kept him “down to earth.”

Together, the couple reside in Mission Viejo, California. Block also works as the head PGA professional at Mission Viejo’s Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club. Speaking to Trevor Immelman of CBS Sports, he had revealed that he charges $150 for an hour-long lesson on the sport. He also shared that the total number of clients had declined in the past few years, as Block enjoys teaching only those individuals he likes to “hang out with.” Prior to the 2023 PGA Championship, the golfer made the cut in 4 out of the 25 PGA Tour events he has appeared in.

Block and his wife, Val, have two sons, Dylan, 18, and Ethan, 16. Both their sons also harbor a love for the game of golf!

Block’s sons love the game just like their father

Growing up around golfing sensation of a father evoked a love for the game in sons Dylan and Ethan. Moreover, they are achieving great things in the game, just like their father! Per Block’s wife, his oldest son recently made it to the sectionals for the U.S. Open. As Dylan works towards achieving new heights, he has the constant support of his father.

Val has also opened up about how amazing of a father her husband truly is. “He just supports his kids more than anything,” she shared in her interview with Golf.com. Her husband, who won the PGA Professional Player of the Year in 2022, often takes to social media to share wholesome photos with his sons. Meanwhile, his family members maintain a comparatively lower profile on the internet.

Block had his son on the bag when he appeared at the Farmers Insurance Open in February of this year. He even shared a photo from the memorable event on his Instagram. “Yes……it’s that good, to be fortunate enough to play in a @pgatour event with one of your boys @block.dylan on the bag,” wrote Block in the caption accompanying the photo.
