The golfer spoke about how shocking the whole merger news was for him and said, “It was just thrown out there, we were frustrated with what happened.”

Woods spoke on the matter of a possible merger between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf. He was asked how optimistic he felt about the agreement coming together before the deadline. He said, “We’re aggressively working on trying to get a deal done. And we’re all trying to make sure that the process is better…As long as getting the deal, we’ll make sure it’s done the right way.”

He was also asked what changes could be made according to him. To this, he added, “Yeah, well, as long as the player has input, and we’re able to make faster decisions. And the Board recognizes that and I think that is one of the one of the key things that the players, all the pirate directors have really focused on. And I think the entire board has been very accepting of that and we would like to make the process faster.

It is common knowledge that Tiger Woods has been actively involved with the PGA Tour policy board over the last few months. Woods is the sixth player director of the PGA Tour policy board.
