According to Watson, the PGA tour was going against the rule and giving money for years to Watson to show up. He said, “I was paid behind the closed door to show up at the tournaments, many tournaments.”

If he makes the cut, then, of course, he will get the money for playing. This way or that way, Watson revealed that he was not at a loss.
