11-time LPGA winner Lexi Thompson is playing at the Shriners Children’s Open and has gotten herself into the LPGA’s history book. Thompson is the seventh such woman to be playing at a PGA Tour event after Babe Zaharias, Shirley Spork, Annika Sorenstam, Suzy Whaley, Michelle Wie West and Brittany Lincicome.

As she played the first round among the male golfers, the people were confused and shocked by her drive. Skimming out the doubts, one reporter came to defend the golfer. The fans furthermore supported the European in a series of comments under the tweet.

Lexi Thompson’s game at the Shriners Open causes confusion among the masses

Lexi Thompson currently teeing it up at TPC Summerlin, Shriners Children’s Open. The 28-year-old was invited on sponsor’s exemption, to which she immediately said yes!

As the first round started on Thursday, Lexi finished at two over 73. Her play included a few birdies, bogeys, and a missed eagle. The second round is continuing with her standing tied. It’ll be a joy to see her cut. 

But the overall game of Thompson was something the public did not expect out of an LPGA golfer. Even then, people made comments and doubted that the organizers were offering Lexi different tees to play from. Chantel McCabe, a golf reporter, cleared people’s unnecessary doubts via her recent tweet.

The people in the comments cheered and encouraged their star, Lexi Thompson. She is the only player to play with male golfers since 2018. While others were a bit hostile.

Another pointed out the absurdity of the situation and explained that there is one common tee for everyone.

This one was slightly negative, as he believed the competition was weaker and her impressive gameplay was all due to the shorter course.

This one commenting on her overall gameplay predicted that Thompson could finish at 40 and make the cut.

One fan thanked the reporter for clearing the air but also jabbed that otherwise, everything would be a joke.

Another was not amused with the situation. He found it silly that a tweet has to clear the doubts.
