Although many consider it a niche sport, golf is getting more and more popular. Enthusiasts are taking to the golf course regularly to hit a few tees. In the age of social media, many of the shots by these amateur golfers and other intriguing moments from the course go viral.

One such video that has gone viral shows a bunch of enthusiasts trying their best shots. But these are not just practice putts. These amateur golfers were doing it for a reward–the prize money.

ZireGolf, one of the best Instagram pages for memes and videos on golf and around golf, has put out a video and some pictures that have fans in for a surprise. The clip shows golfing enthusiasts trying out difficult shots, for the first time probably.

The video shows about 12 golfers taking a risk at a shot from 140 yards–all for a chance to win $250,000! ZireGolf captioned the video as: “Shot of his life.” We are sure it was exactly that for the rookie, one that he would never forget in his lifetime.

The video does have quite a few reactions from fans as well on Instagram. Some of them were there on the golf course during the event.

Fans react to the high-stakes shot

“This makes me SO happy everytime I watch this! Way to go Uncle @erik_run !!”, said a fan who probably knew the player. A fan asked excitedly, “How can you not get hyped watching this?! The shot, the reactions, the crowd. Awesome!” Another joked, “He will  never have to ask his wife to play golf again…”

“I personally would have bladed it but to each their own,” remarked a fan, while the other said, “Inject this into my veins!!!”

“That is insane!!!” exclaimed an enthusiast echoing what everyone was thinking. “Pay the man,” said a social media user.

But this final comment nailed it and expressed what everyone felt at the moment. A fan remarked, “Was there for this. Coolest thing I’ve ever seen on the course. Period.”
