Lydia Ko’s journey has always been a story of confidence, and when that confidence wavers, so does her game. After a challenging 2023 season, she found herself doubting her place in golf. The highs of her earlier years seemed distant, and even as she regained some form late in 2024, the thought of retiring crept in. Yet, just when things felt uncertain, Lydia reminded everyone of her brilliance. She shut down those doubts by making a massive statement at the Olympics and the AIG Women’s Open, showing the world she was far from finished.

In a candid interview with Golf Monthly, Lydia shared how the struggles of 2023 led her to question her future in the sport. A rough patch in 2024 only added to that self-doubt. Even her mom confessed that the 15-year-old Lydia was a more dominant player than she is now. Her dad’s words echoed too, remembering how fiercely competitive young Lydia was on the greens. It all sounded a bit worrying at the time, but that feeling has passed.

With a final round of three-under 69, she finished four strokes ahead of Thailand’s Jeeno Thitikul and Japan’s Ayaka Furue. This victory, her first in Singapore, showed that Lydia Ko is back—and she’s stronger than ever.

Her fans could not be happier and showered all the love and excitement on her win.
