After years of requests and pleas from golf fans, inarguably the best holiday golf movie, Happy Gilmore 2 may finally make it to the big screens. Christopher McDonald – Shooter McGavin, the pro golfer in the movie – revealed the news about a sequel in progress. He shared that Adam Sandler had shown him the script.

So, per McDonald, It’s in the works, fans have demanded.” But how would a film work without its cast? To answer that question, the golf world has participated in making its list of actors and celebrities from the golf world to star in the upcoming movie. While Tiger Woods was suggested to play Chubbs Peterson and Will Zalatoris to be Gilmore’s caddie, the golf mommy was asked to play the role of Virginia Venit (the PR lady of the PGA Tour in the movie). The list was shared by Tour Golf on X.

Later, Paige Spiranac posted a tweet of her recreating the iconic ‘Happy Place’ scene from the Happy Gilmore movie, where the actress was carrying two pints of beer in sheer loungewear. Spiranac captioned the tweet saying that she “was born ready” to play the role in the movie. The post quickly grabbed the attention of the golf world and NUCLR Golf reposted the picture, asking fans if they agreed she’d be a good choice.

And the fans of Spiranac and golf were all in to see one of the biggest golf influencers to star in the sequel Happy Gilmore 2. Many were exhilarated by the choice and shared their excitement for seeing Spiranac don the big screens.

The romantic female lead of the movie, Happy Gilmore was an attractive and important personality for golf. Much like what Spiranac represents, a former golf pro with a classy persona. This fan could see the stars aligning and could already see the golf mommy “crushing it as Virginia Venit!”

Though there are many golf influencers who could play the character of Venit in the movie, for this fan Spiranac was the very best choice. Not only that, they claimed her to be “the only choice” for the role.

For this fan, Spiranac was the perfect choice as well. Though the script is nowhere near completion and the movie might take some time to be released, this fan was already excited and believed that Happy Gilmore 2 would be fire with Spiranac in it.

Whether the casting director of Happy Gilmore 2 chooses Spiranac as the lead female or not, the fans have declared their verdict. This user said, “We need Paige involved in this for sure.” Moreover, they made a unique suggestion that instead of playing the role of PR for the PGA Tour in the sequel, Spiranac can be cast as the female Happy Gilmore, “if they decided to go that route.”
