The 2021-2022 season of the PGA Tour ended on August 29, Sunday, with the Tour Championship. Unlike other seasons, there have been some memorable and interesting instances that happened in the golf world this year. And the golf influencer Paige Spiranac recently shared some of her favorite moments of the season with her followers. 

The former professional golfer recently posted a video of her on Twitter that she captioned, “Wild season in golf!” Spiranac pointed out the top three moments that she found interesting in professional golfing this year in the video.

Tiger Woods’s comeback topped Spiranac’s list 

“First off, Tiger Woods being back,” she named her favorite moment of the 2021-2022 season. The legendary golfer has been on a one-year hiatus since he has been in an accident before making a comeback at the 2022 Masters Tournament.

Notably, Woods advanced to two of the three major championships he attended this season. And Spiranac thought those were almost impossible moments considering how bad his accident was. Even though it is not a surprise, the introduction of the new LIV Golf Invitational Series also made it to her list of memorable instances of the year.

Greg Norman, the LIV Golf CEO, trying to convince many Tour golfers to play in his league, him getting successful most of the time, and the animosity between the PGA Tour and the LIV Golf… Spiranac enjoyed watching all of them. “Quiet frankly, I am LIVing for this drama!” she added.  

Paige Spiranac thinks Rory McIlroy made a huge impact on the PGA Tour this season

“Lastly, we had Rory McIlroy emerge as the face of golf,” she explained in the video. According to her, the Irishman has done the most impactful work on the Tour this season. 

After serving as the Player Advisory Council chairman in 2021, Rory McIlroy has now taken up the role of one of the four-player directors this year. He has also been one of the prominent players to speak out against the LIV Golf Invitational Series whenever they pose a threat to the PGA Tour. 

He has also won the 2022 Tour Championship, the season-end event on the PGA Tour. McIlroy won it after a fierce battle as he entered the tournament with a 6-shot deficit. With his win, he could also win his third FedExCup title.
