With the new 2023 season, the golf events have been lined one after the other. And as golf fans have blocked their calender to watch their favorite players play golf, Australian golfer, Scott Hend, is still trying to untangle himself from the number of offers that fell in his box.
His latest tweet has sent a wave of giggles among the netizens. He has three offers he thinks he still needs to earn. In his tweet, he wrote, “I’d like to announce I’ve been offered a very lucrative LIV contract. Also, a PGA Tour Card and a exemption on the DPWORLD Tour.” Explaining how it did not make sense, he wrote, “Yeah, right. It doesn’t work that way… All these things must be earnt one way or another. All are awarded on Merit and earnt.” However, he knew that his Tweet would give a push to all the golf fans, “Watch the Trolls now.”

Hend indirectly took a dig at the LIV players, but the golf fans were wise enough to catch it and joined him. What did they say?

It is no news that LIV Golf has received massive criticism from golf fans. They believe golfers who joined the Saudi-backed circuit left the PGA Tour only for money. It has disrupted the legacy of the American tour, which did not sit well with the fans and many golfers like Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy. And as LIV has rebranded itself for this season, they are adding new faces to it.
And in that process, they offered Asian Tour player, Hend, to join the Saudi circuit. However, the pro believes he did not earn those three offers that landed in his lap. But his followers took it to another level. They pointed out that even a few players already part of the LIV still needed to ‘earn’ their place on tour. Chase Koepka was the name that was the center of discussion in most comments.
And the comment section became a troll hub, as Hend suggested it would be in his Tweet. Bubba Watson has recently joined the PGA Tour competitor and will return to the greens after his surgery. Although that did not sit well with golf fans, he received scrutiny like any LIV player. However, look at a few reactions that might make you wonder and laugh.
