In golf, it is the Open, Masters, US Open, and the PGA Championship. The grand slams in tennis are the Australian Open, US Open, French Open, and the world-famous Wimbledon Championship.
In the 2021 men’s major championships; men’s Open champion – Collin Morikawa took home prize money of $1.935 million, the PGA Champion- Phil Mickelson won $1. 82 million, US Open champion- Jon Rahm won a whopping $2.25 million, and the masters- Hideki Matsuyama won $2 million.

However, the difference in pay is huge in golf. In the 2021 women’s major season, the Open champion won $675,000, the US Open champion won prize money of $1 million, the PGA Championship winner won $645,000, ANA Inspiration winner won $465,000 and the Evian Championship winner took home $650,000. It’s very clear that only one major championship in the women’s circuit had prize money worth $1 million.
