Tiger Woods is indeed one of the greatest legends of golf. However, the 48 YO is starting to get a little rustic on the ground. Things turned around for him ever since he met with the life-altering car accident in 2021. However, he still managed to show up for tournaments till the Open Championship in July. Ever since he has not yet been able to make a comeback. Fans assumed that he would make it to the field in December for his event, but as it turns out, he went through his sixth back surgery in ten years, and the recovery will take a lot of time. And thus, he was not a part of the field at the 2024 Hero World Challenge. However, being the host of the show, he was present, and for the final day, had a rather special post to fulfill.
For the final round at Albany on Sunday, Tiger Woods grabbed a seat between host Dan Hicks and analyst Smylie Kauffman, just as Scheffler was sizing up his approach shot at the par-4 13th. He followed his tradition of wearing red on Sundays to the hosting spot as well. Smylie Kauffman shared a picture of the trio from the reporting desk on his official Instagram account. He wrote, “He wears red on Sundays… I wear purple! What a treat sharing the booth with the 🐐 @tigerwoods today! A great way to end the year with the @nbcsports team and of course congrats to @scottie.scheffler on the W! 🏆”.
Scottie Scheffler birdied four of his final six holes on Sunday, including the 16th, where he found himself in a fairway bunker while his playing partner, Justin Thomas, drove into the fairway. Just when the leaderboard seemed like it might tighten, Scheffler made another birdie, and the 54-hole leader bogeyed, effectively sealing the win for Scheffler. There could not have been a better ending to the 2024 season, as the 15X Major Champion handed over the trophy to Scottie Scheffler.

The golf community hopes to see Tiger Woods at the 2025 Happy Hour
Smylie Kauffman played on the PGA Tour for almost a decade. His last appearance was at the 2022 Puerto Rico Open, where he ended up missing the cut. Out of the total 93 events that he played throughout his career, he only bagged one win in the 2015 Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. On the other hand, Tiger Woods has played on the Tour for over a decade and has still not backed out. Out of the 378 events he has played so far, he managed to win a whopping 82 events on the Tour. Adding up both their victories, one of them wrote, “83 wins in the booth!”
The Shriners Children’s Open has been a breakthrough tournament for several Tour players, who earned their first victory on the PGA Tour at TPC Summerlin. And just like Smylie Kauffman, it was the same for Tiger Woods too. And that was his breakthrough. Taking to this, one of them in excitement wrote, “Just two Shriners Children’s Open champs talking shop”.

At the 2016 Ryder Cup at Hazeltine National Golf Club Smylie Kauffman and Tiger Woods came together. While they weren’t part of the same playing team, the pair shared a fun moment off the course during the event. Kaufman, a rising star at the time, was paired with Woods in the Ryder Cup’s opening ceremony for an event that showcased the lighter side of the competition. Both players are known for their sense of humor, and they added some levity to the event as they interacted with fans and enjoyed the build-up to the matches. Their chemistry was evident when Kaufman and Woods took part in media interviews and warm-ups, displaying a blend of humor and competitiveness that entertained the crowd.
