Golf fans on Twitter were not happy about the news, and more than that, they were disappointed with Rickie’s performance. Some even compared his game to 17-year-old golfers who qualified quite easily and yet, Rickie couldn’t make it.
There’s 17yr old qualifying. This is total joke. He had 2 double bogey’s on a course he literally belongs too

He need to go to the LIV tour. He’ll find more success and guaranteed money. For whatever reason he’s not good enough anymore to be on this tour. Eventually those sponsorships will run out with the extreme lack of results.

His game hasn't been anywhere near U.S. Open standards in the last year or so. He's likely headed to Lomdon to cash a nice signing bonus check and to play 54 this week.

Looks like Rickie has a decision to make. Join the LIV and risk losing endorsements or stay with the PGA tour

Struggle to even compete at the John Deere Classic or go take probably 20 mil guaranteed plus smaller fields n more probability to win with LIV?

70 players were in competition for four spots. The players who finally made it to those spots are Keith Greene, Sean Jacklin, Fred Biondi, and Ryan Gerard. Unfortunately, Fowler wasn’t one of them.
Rickie Fowler to take up the LIV Tour?
On the other hand, some suggested that he should take up the LIV Tour now since his chances of success and earning money are better there. Fans also predicted that his sponsorships would also soon run out due to Fowler’s consistent bad results in this Tour.

Fowler has been in serious rumors recently about leaving the PGA Tour and going for the LIV Golf Invitational Series. Soon after he lost his game at the U.S. Open, Fowler flew back home to Florida to try his luck at the qualifier at The Club at Admiral’s Cove in Florida.
What does Fowler have to say?
When asked about his views about the LIV Tour, Rickie said, “I’ve been in talks with them for a long time,”. He added, “It’s something to definitely look at. At this point, it wasn’t the right move or decision for us, but I’m not saying I’m for sure here or I’m going to go there. I’m going to just kind of leaving my options open and see how things play out.”
