Hannah Green celebrated her win with a ‘shoey’

‘Shoey’ is a term used to denote when somebody drinks from their own shoe. In a video posted by GOLFTV, Hannah is seen celebrating her win with a ‘shoey.’

The Australian golfer cleaned her shoe before pouring champagne into the shoe. She used the shoe she was wearing the entire time while playing golf. If you know golf, you know that it takes hours to finish a day. Therefore, she used the shoe that had hours of sweat to drink the champagne. If that is not a unique celebration, I don’t know what is.

The funny thing was in the end when she refused to wear the shoe again. She said with a giggle, “I’m not wearing that,” to which someone from the crowd replied, “It’s better than drink in it.”

Interestingly, this was not the first time an Australian has ever done that. When F1 driver, Daniel Ricciardo, won his first win after three years, he celebrated it by drinking champagne from his shoe. Meanwhile, Australian UFC fighter Tai Tuivasa also celebrates his victories with a ‘shoey’ celebration.

Fans reaction to golfer’s ‘shoey’ celebration

All the fans were supportive of Hannah as they enjoyed watching the golfer doing a shoey. One of them wrote“The only thing I can see wrong with this is @hannahgreengolf didn’t pour more into that shoe!”

Some fans remembered when Ricciardo did this on his win, as many of them mentioned him in their comments.
