The 55-year-old year is currently in Orlando, Florida, where the highly talked about PNC Championship is currently underway. In a stout field comprising Tiger Woods, Justin Thomas, and Gary Player, John Daly is teeing it up with his budding golfer son, John Patrick Daly II.

Daly is not letting his beard grow out to keep on trend with a fashion statement or a whim. No, he has a solid reason for doing so, as he revealed. He said, “Well, I started growing it when I found out I had cancer. And I figured most people shave things. I just wanted to grow this until I beat it.”

Taken as a joke that time, he said, “So this thing may be down to my knees time I beat this cancer. But I am going to let it grow and grow. I will put my Santa Claus outfit on for Christmas for the next three or four years.”

So, we can look forward to making this an annual tradition until he gets better, which we hope is sooner than he predicts.
