Phil Mickelson had disappeared from the golfing world for about three months. However, earlier yesterday, Phil Mickelson was sighted in California. He was in his usual outfit, playing golf at the Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club. A few people spotted him playing golf with his friends and probably preparing for a comeback.

A Twitter user recorded one of his tee shots and posted this video on the microblogging platform. We can see Phil has got bulkier and developed plenty of swing speed. This is the first time we see Mickelson after the Saudi Invitational in February 2022. 

Mickelson, who was very much active on social media, especially on Twitter, has not made a tweet since February. This goes on to show the impact the whole saga has had on Phil. 

The golfing world was split in two as a few fans trolled him while others welcomed Phil to golf. So here are a few interesting reactions from fans about Phil Mickelson coming back and playing golf.

Will Phil Mickelson compete in the rival league?

Phil Mickelson recently requested a release from the PGA Tour to play the inaugural event of the LIV Golf Invitational Series. The 51-year-old has shown interest in competing at the Centurian Club in June. However, Phil’s manager has revealed that there is no complete commitment from Mickelson, and he just wants to keep all his options open.

According to reports, the PGA Tour president Jay Monahan will permit the PGA Tour members to compete only in the inaugural event. Furthermore, it is said that he will deny any further requests as their events clash with the PGA Tour schedule.

Therefore, it will be interesting to see how Phil Mickelson goes ahead. By committing to the LIV Golf Invitational Series, he could invite more friction and legal battle between himself, the PGA Tour, and the Greg Norman-led series.
