Moreover, he explained making a solid comeback once the American professional feels 100% fit. Not to forget, DeChambeau was suffering from a fractured hamate bone in his left wrist and, as a result, had to go through a procedure on April 14th, 2022. Furthermore, after his successful surgery, the professional golfer disclosed that he could make a comeback in two months, making the PGA Championship not a viable option for him to play.
He took every step to ensure he could play at the event and was present on the golf course yesterday to see if Bryson could give it a go, but in the end, he announced his withdrawal from the event on Wednesday afternoon.
Moreover, the statement that he tweeted said, “After careful consideration, I have decided to WD from the @PGAChampionship. I want to make a full return when I am 100% ready to compete at golf’s highest level. Thank you all for the continued support!”DeChambeau was replaced by Denny McCarthy on the PGA Championship field. Furthermore, The statement poses many questions about when the PGA Tour professional will be able to make his comeback. Will Bryson play at the 2022 U.S. Open, a major championship event he has won in the past?
The golf world reacts to the disappointing Bryson DeChambeau news
As soon as the news broke about Bryson’s withdrawal, golf Twitter was shocked and turned into a frenzy. Golf fans from all over the world reacted to the unfortunate update. Moreover, the fans had a mixed reaction to the same. A few of the fans supported his decision not to play this week. At the same time, others thought he could not make it to the major championship event in the first place. While other fans were worried about the alternative player, who replaced DeChambeau in the field, as he got little practice before the event starts.
Bryson, not one person was even thinking about you playing in the PGA. You could’ve not made this post and no one would know, complete after thought at this point. One major wonder

Bryson is literally 1 or 2 weeks off of playing. He is just not ready. might try again next weekend or the week after. he's going to hit the ball just as hard as he did before.

Feel kinda bad though for the alternate now coming in with no practice rounds prior, poor timing for them.

Take your time man! Better to make sure this return and your recovery are proper and not to rush into another injury! You got many more wins and years to come. #healup

Health first…good move for sure. You definitely don’t want to do something that would make it worse.

How did Bryson injure his left hamate bone?
The fracture occurred earlier this year at Asian Tour’s Saudi International. He injured himself when he slipped on the floor while playing Ping-pong. As a result, Bryson also had to withdraw from the vent after the first round. Moreover, DeChambeau made his return at the WGC Dell Match Play and the Valero Texas Open. But he could not play well. On top of that, he even gave it a try at the 2022 Masters, but ended up missing the cut at the major championship event.
