It is absolutely a dream-come-true kind of moment for any golfer to be able to play on the PGA Tour. And for that dream to come true for a young golfer based on university rankings is absolute bliss. Such was the scene for Texas Tech University student Ludvig Aberg. And considering that the Swede had just made history, this elating news was even more special.
Aberg has previously shown his immense potential as a rising star in the professional game by participating in numerous PGA Tour and DP World Tour events. And now that the Swedish star has made it to the end zone, the fans could not be more joyful!

Ludvig Aberg’s wonderful news
Since late March, Aberg has held the number-one spot and has achieved notable accomplishments. This includes winning a total of eight tournaments at the college level, with victories at the Big 12 Conference Championship in 2022 and 2023. Additionally, the golfer has been honored with the Ben Hogan Awards in 2022 and 2023. In 2021, Aberg emerged victorious at the Jones Cup Invitational held at Ocean Forest Golf Club. And now he has yet another achievement to add to his belt!
Ludvig Aberg recently became the first player in the history of the PGA Tour to go from being a college student to a PGA Tour golfer directly. It happened on Monday evening after the NCAA Championship was concluded, and Aberg had cemented himself as the No. 1 player in the final 2023 PGA TOUR University Ranking.

As stated on the official PGA Tour website, the top-ranked amateur golfer has secured membership for both the remaining 2023 season and the entire 2024 season, although he will be subject to reshuffling in 2024.
