Charley Hull is in the thick of the action at the AIG Women’s Open 2023, sharing the top spot as she heads into the tournament’s final round. After a noteworthy display on Walton Heath’s third day. During the interview at AIG Women’s Open, Mixed Zone on Saturday, 12 August 2023, she spoke of the warmth and familiarity she feels playing on her home soil.

Furthermore, she mentioned, Yeah, I just feel obviously. I’ve played it a few more times and now I just feel excited and comfortable and just really enjoying it. Golf is a game. It’s a sport and you play it because it’s fun, and I just enjoy it, I’d like to enjoy it ones golf course, and good or bad, I love it.

Stepping Up After Past Close Calls

Hull delivered a streak of three birdies in a row towards the end of her round, carding a third-round 68. This propelled her to tie for the lead at Walton Heath, alongside Chevron Championship victor, Lilia Vu. Hull came close to winning at the US Women’s Open earlier this year, finishing second. Now, she’s aiming for the number one position and wants to be among those winning big for the first time.

When asked how she would feel to hoist a trophy in her home soil, she replied, “Yeah, you ask anyone that, it would be unbelievable. It would be absolutely unbelievable, what Georgia done in 2017, or 2018, I can’t remember what it was, that was unbelievable. To do that again would be unreal. But one step at a time and just go out there and have fun.”
