The prestigious LPGA Rolex Awards 2023 has concluded with giving away trophies to notable golf players on the women’s tour. One of the award winners was 11-time LPGA winner Lexi Thompson. The American made her debut in 2015. This was her first ever accolade at the Rolex Awards.

Thompson won the esteemed Founders Award. The ceremony took place at The Ritz-Carlton Resort. It is the same venue where the year-ending season championship, the CME Group Tour Championship, is being held. After the conclusion of the ceremony, Lexi Thompson took to her Instagram to share her gratitude.

The annual LPGA Rolex Awards crowns the most remarkable players who have worked for the women’s tour in one season. This year, Lexi Thompson won the Founders Award. She was voted by her fellow members on the LPGA Tour.

In her winning speech, Thompson thanked everyone and said, “I cherish every single friendship I have made in my whole career out here.” Moreover, in an Instagram post shared by her, she expressed the blessings she has received throughout her 15-year-old career.

Lexi started by mentioning the memorable night and then thanked Rolex for it. She went on to explain what she wanted out of her career. More than victories and accolades, Thompson wanted to have a long-lasting impact on the game.

“I’ve always wanted to have more of an impact than just my game, so winning the Founders award has meant so much to me,” the 11x LPGA winner said. She then acknowledged the votes by her peers and said, “You all are so incredible 🤗”. Ending on an emotional note, she said, “Thank you to my family for sacrificing so much, and just loving me for me.”

However, Thompson was not the only one who grabbed an award at the ceremony. Lilia Vu won The Rolex ANNIKA Major Award, while Hae Ran Ryu won the Rookie of the Year award. As Thompson shared her good memories with her fans, there were a lot of good wishes waiting for her in the comments section.
