Mervin Norman, the father of LIV CEO Greg Norman, recently passed away. The news came in as Greg Norman posted a picture of himself with his father along with a heart-wrenching message. The “shark” found his social media profile as a way to express his true feelings in front of the world after the huge loss.

In memory of his father, Greg Norman wrote, “When you lose that person they are gone until you meet them again in a higher place.” Explaining his father’s role and contribution in his life, Norman continued to write, “Dad you were always there for me, drove me to be who I am, gave me the genes, mind, heart, soul, and strength to achieve things I never expected myself and few have ever achieved.”

The retired golfer made everyone emotional with his words as he compared himself with his father. “I am you in every way.” Norman wrote. “We will meet again for me to fill you in with my final chapters of my life.
