LIV Golf is back with another exciting event – Adelaide 2024. With just a few more days left for D-day, the golfers are in full hyping up mode, trying to stir up the level of excitement with their online presence. The Grange Golf Club greens will witness legends like Cameron Smith, Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson, and many more.

Given the event’s huge success last year, with its debut for LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman and South Australian premier Peter Malinauskas, with over 77k spectators across three days from 37 different countries, Norman hopes the second year will get only better. But the quest looks a little far-fetched this time. The comments on Bubba Watson’s post are a testament to it.

Bubba Watson promotes LIV Golf Adelaide 2024

Bubba Watson took to his official X (formerly Twitter) account, a week before entering the 2024 LIV Golf Adelaide Greens. The video had an AI-generated version of Watson, as he wore a pink polo, and danced his way through a stage surrounded by thousands of people cheering, which hinted how the event is not just about competition but also has a dash of entertainment to it.

The 12th hole in the greens is famous for its stadium, which can rarely be seen on the golf courses. The stadium that resonates beers and entertainment galore has a scope of being expanded this year, trying to get one step closer to Greg Norman’s dream of a grander success this year at the Crowne Plaza!

Taking to X, in the caption, Bubba Watson wrote, “A preview of the party hole in Australia next week 🎉 @livgolf_league.” But the golf community is not an easy one to please anymore, and well, looks like it is not entertainment that they desire, but good gameplay!

The Golf Community picks at Bubba Watson’s post

As Bubba Watson entertainingly promoted the onset of the 2024 LIV Golf Adelaide, the golf community started stating why LIV Golf is not able to make it up to their expectations. Looks like the audience wants more thrill through the clubs and balls than through partying.

A lot of the people commented on how with time, LIV Golf is turning into nothing but a joke. With players being the pawns for entertainment-based promotion, one of them annoyed, wrote, “Proof again that LIV is a circus, not a golf tour. Paid entertainers, not golfers.” Another, taking to pretty much the same emotion, called Bubba Watson a clown and the league a circus. He wrote:

Last year, the LIV Golf Adelaide was such a huge success that the state gathered a revenue of $65 billion through the championship. However, after all the chaos that has been caused among the leagues with the shifting of the players, the likelihood has comparatively decreased for the breakaway league. Hinting at a lower rate of attendance this year, one of them commented, “More like having a party when nobody shows up.”

The 2X Masters champion, Bubba Watson joined the LIV Golf back in July 2022. Not surprising that this decision too left the fans in complete rage. A lot of the golfers were even accused of being in it only for the money. One of them, disappointed in him for this, wrote, “Really can’t believe you sold your soul for this 👎🏽”. While another straightaway questioning his ethics and self-respect, commented, “Is pride no longer a thing”.

Whether the 2024 LIV Golf Adelaide will bring in more success than its debut last year, or will Greg Norman’s dreams be truly shattered? It shall unravel with time. Stay tuned to find out what happens at the Crowne Plaza!
