Paige Spiranac needs no introduction to the golfing world. She has been ruling the golf scene for almost a decade now without actively playing. Call it luck or the result of her hard work, despite not getting her card for the LPGA qualification, she managed to create a career more successful than she probably made as a golfer.

And though she had to give up on her dream of a professional career and embrace an early retirement, she tried her best when there was time. So, let’s learn if the golf diva ever attended the LPGA Q School.

Paige Spiranac and her preparation to join the LPGA

Some days ago in one of the episodes of her podcast, Playing a Round with Paige, the golf star revealed that when young she was interested in gymnastics and moved to Arizona to pursue golf with her mother at the age of 13. She always had her focus on the sport. By 2016 she played in two Ladies European Tour events as a professional and was ready to join Q School. 

Days before her joining she was interviewed about joining the school during a practice round. Expressing her excitement before joining the school the golf diva has said in an interview “I’m excited for Q-School, but also nervous, The process is grueling and there are so many talented players competing for a very small number of spots.”

She continued “Regardless of the outcome, each high-pressure experience like this is helping me get one step closer to achieving my goals.” That year Spiranac gave an update on Facebook, writing “Had a good comeback after Q School! Finished 9th in the Colorado Open with 74,71,70.”

Though she couldn’t earn her professional card, Spiranac did give her best efforts towards achieving her golf goals. She even played some good events before she decided to retire in 2016.

Spiranac’s career during college and as a pro

By the time she went to Q School, the 30-year-old had already garnered much attention and already had a huge following. She also played college golf at San Diego State where she was a two-time All-Mountain West selection. Her increasing fame at the time gave her exposure and brought her many invitations. She made her professional debut at the Dubai Masters, where she shot 77 and 79 and after that, she was also invited to the Scottish Open at Dundonald, where she made the cut.

She officially played on the Cactus Tour in seven tournaments and secured one win. Her pro stint was short-lived but was a good one. Paige did not find much success but fate her other plans for her. She continues to walk on the path of golf but in a different manner.
