With the 87th edition of the Masters Tournament only a few days away, fans are extremely excited to catch their favorite stars in action on the fabled greens! As LIV Golf players are allowed to compete for the Green Jacket and mix it up with PGA players at the Augusta National Golf Clubthe excitement has reached another level for golf enthusiasts. Besides a return to the traditions, the LIV vs PGA could take center stage from April 6-9. As the seconds tick away, golfers are commenting on the same.

One of the qualified defectors made some strong statements about the PGA Tour vs LIV Golf situation! Here’s what he said.

Currently part of the LIV Golf league, Chilean professional golfer Joaquín Niemann is in the headlines for a special reason. The golfer had a beautiful career on the PGA Tour before joining the Saudi League. In fact, he won two professional tournaments on the American Tour and was ranked number 1 in amateur golf for the 2017-2018 season.

However, ever since he decided to join LIV Golf, fans have not been very supportive of the player. But according to his recent statements, Niemann seemed to have an unexpected outlook towards the PGA vs LIV controversy. In fact, the golfer believes that being hated by fans is indeed “more fun”! Here’s what he said in a recent interview shared on Twitter:

“I think it’s going to be more fun for us knowing that they hate us… going to the Majors and beat them.” Niemann has already received his invite for the 2023 Masters, just like his other 17 LIV Golf buddies. And it looks like the golfer is pretty unaffected by the entire PGA Tour squabble. However, he definitely had something to convey to his rival players!

During his interview, Niemann also talked about his honest feelings regarding the PGA Tour. According to him, he was very excited to know that LIV Golf players were invited to play at the Masters. However, he stated that the PGA Tour and their players allegedly dislike LIV golfers ever since they made the Saudi transition.

“Between the tour and the LIV tour, I think there’s a lot of players that they, I don’t know if they don’t like us, they don’t like the decision that we made. They don’t share the same thoughts that we do about coming here or not. But, I mean everybody to their own decision,” he said.

The golfer also agreed to the PGA Tour vs LIV Golf situation being a motivating factor for his game! “It’s gonna be fun,” he mentioned. “We’re going to be feeling it, with the different players playing at the same time for their tour.”

Well, no matter how motivated the player is for the tournament, it is not going to be easy to ace The Masters. And keeping in mind that the field is full of extremely talented golfers, including past champions, fans are expecting to watch something worth remembering.
