When John Daly stood up for Tiger Woods
Tiger Woods has had a rough personal life. The golfer has gone through a lot in his personal life. But one of the hardest times Woods ever faced was when he got divorced from Elin Nordegren after four years of marriage. The golfer was caught in a huge controversy after the news about his divorce came out.
The golfer received hate from a mass of his fans, who later turned into critics. Many of his friends from the golf community turned their back on him. However, there was one man who decided to take a stand for his old pal. And it was none other than “Long John” Daly.
When Woods returned to the field after a long break from professional golf, Daly expressed his happiness on seeing the golfer back. Daly has been married four times and has been very open with his fans about his drinking and gambling problems. During his interview with CNN, Daly said, “Everyone makes mistakes, I’ve made them…The true fans are going to come out and watch Tiger, they’re used to seeing him win.”
Daly supported Woods despite saying he did bad things
Daly continued speaking in favor of Woods and said, “He didn’t kill anybody, he didn’t kill himself, there were no arrests or anything.” The fact that Woods was back on the field was the most important for Daly. “I just wish him the best. We’re just happy he’s back,” Daly said. Woods was not expecting such support from the golf star. But to everyone’s surprise, Daly did not hesitate in standing up for the golf great.
Woods has two kids with his ex-wife Elin Nordegren, and is trying to be the best father for them. He once expressed how much he loved spending time with his children, Sam and Charlie. And even Nordegren approves of Woods as a “great father” for their kids. Woods recently caddied for his son Charlie in a junior golf tournament qualifier. It shows that despite the differences between the ex-couple, Woods is giving his best to be the perfect father to his kids.
