Over the past two decades, the game of golf has more or less been about Tiger Woods. Being the epitome of success, Woods has touched heights of the game that remains untouched by the majority of his fellow players. Yesterday, on the 4th of October, the 15-time major champion, took to his social media handles, sharing an update about the 2022 Hero World Challenge.

The announcement touched the cords of emotions of his massive fan following. A section of fans celebrated the coming up of the Woods’ hosted tournament. However, another section raised concerns about his absence from the field. Nevertheless, a couple of hours later, his confidant, Notah Begay III opened up about the former World No. 1’s return.
Notah Begay III hopeful of seeing Tiger Woods play later this year
Following Woods‘ 2022 Hero World Challenge announcement, Begay indulged in a conversation with a presenter at SiriusXM’s PGA Tour Radio. During the conversation, he opened up about Woods’, hoping to see him back on the golf course at the PNC Championship set to take place in December.
“I’m fairly certain it’s going to be at the PNC with Charlie (Woods),” he said. “Charlie starting to play a few more events. You know, he played in one of my Junior Golf Tour events last weekend, which was great to see him shot his career low round 68 with tiger on the bag.”

Tiger Woods has had one of the most gracious careers in the game. However, the journey hasn’t been an easy one for the Californian player. Throughout his two-decade-long career, the former World No. 1 has undergone numerous surgeries for his back and knees. Something, which became worse following his car crash last year i.e 2021….also, something that hampered his performance at the 2022 Open Championship.
Going ahead in the conversation, Begay pointed out Woods’ struggle with his legs. “Tiger is just steadily you know, trying to find ways to get a little bit more stability and his leg was really presenting some major challenges at St. Andrews, I had a chance to talk with him during the round out there. And you know, it’s just, it’s just constant discomfort.”

Heading towards the end, he closed by asserting, “I think he (Woods) got a good sense of what it’s going to take this past year. We’ll see and we might see him one time this fall. might surprise everybody.”

While Begay hopes to see Woods at the PNC Championship later this year, a word from the 46-year-old is still awaited. Tiger Woods last played at the 2022 Open Championship. Struggling to perform, the three-time champion missed the cut, finishing the tournament with a score of 9-over 153.
