It’s been a long time since we have witnessed a masterpiece around golf on the silver screen. While it has never gained the popularity achieved by other sports dramas, movies such as ‘Caddyshack’ and ‘Happy Gilmore’ still found their way to becoming a part of the golfing folklore. However, it looks like an exciting golf biopic is in line to begin production, based on the life of none other than the colorful yet controversial, John Daly.

Daly disclosed the big news in a social media interaction on the PGA Tour Champions’ official Instagram page. “We’re still working on it, but hopefully soon we’ll get something done,” he said when asked about the whispers around his biopic.

Furthermore, the 2-time Major Championship winner revealed who is most likely to mimic his life on the screen. “Jonah Hill, he wants it really bad,” Daly said, before adding the difficulties he and Hill faced around weights in their respective careers.

“The way me and him have fluctuated with weight in our lives and no disrespect to him, because I love him. I love him as an actor,” Daly confessed. “But I’m sure I’ll love him as a friend too, if [Hill] gets this done.”

However, with all the sweet words Daly had for Hill, he also wanted to check out the actor’s golf skills before prepping forward. “Well, I’m going to have to get him on the driving range and see how far I can take the club back and if he can do that, then he’s all set,” Daly chuckled.

For the unversed, Jonah Hill is a 2-time Academy Award nominee and surged into stardom with supporting roles in ‘Moneyball’ and ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’. The 38-year-old was recently seen sporting a long beard, similar to Daly’s present look, which started the gossip that made the rounds recently.
