Former World no. 1 Justin Thomas is a pro golfer who plays on the PGA Tour. He holds a record of winning 15 events on the PGA Tour. The 29-year-old golfer has achieved a lot at such a young age and still has a long way to go.
Though JT is still a part of PGA, the tour has recently lost numerous players to the new LIV Golf Invitational Series.

Legends like Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, and Bryson DeChambeau have happily left the PGA Tour and joined hands with the Saudi-backed league.

In a recent press conference at The Country Club in Brookline, the moderator talked to the golfer about his fellow players entering the Saudi-backed series. World No.5 Thomas spoke about the field and also about his preparations for the upcoming U.S. Open Week.

While asking the questions, the moderator asked about Thomas’ views about the LIV Golf Series. He also asked the golfer about his reaction regarding his friends joining the rival league, specifically mentioning Phil Mickelson.

Thomas responded by sharing how he had always wanted to play on the PGA Tour and break records. He described the situation as sad and felt disappointed about the fact that more players could leave the Tour. Clearly, he has no intentions of leaving the PGA Tour.
Thomas says Mickelson’s decision was “not that surprising”
In his response to Phil Mickelson’s decision of joining the LIV Golf Series, the golfer said, “I mean, he was very adamant about it for a while, so I don’t think that decision or Bryson really surprised any of us. They were talking it up not only to a lot of their peers but other people.”

He added, “I think Phil going was not that surprising of a decision just based off of things that I was hearing internally from him and others.”

It was clear from Thomas’ statement that he was already aware of his fellow golfer’s decision of joining the series.

Mickelson, according to Thomas, had already made the decision a long time ago and had also been talking about it with people. The same was the case with Bryson DeChambeau and so his decision was also not surprising for Thomas at all.
