LIV member Phil Mickelson had been an essential part of the PGA for three decades before he joined the Saudi-backed circuit. Due to his controversial move, other players on the tour now have a chance to shine since a crucial player is not part of the PGA Tour. Even though there is an opportunity, Bernhard Langer, the German pro golfer, thinks otherwise. He recently expressed his views on the absence of Mickelson on the tour.
Langer has claimed many titles under his name in a career spanning over forty years. Currently, he is focused on the Charles Schwab Cup Championship, the next big PGA tour event. The 52-year-old LIV player Mickelson won’t be allowed to appear for the tournament post his resignation from the PGA. The sport’s first official number-one ranked player, Langer, added that other players will now try to take his place on the tour. Mickelson has created a legacy of his own on the tour. After him, someone else will try to take his place. But not to mention that everyone will feel his absence during the event because he has been the center of attraction of the tour. He said, “I think Phil is always an attraction when he plays golf, but I guess he made his choice and he won’t be there.”
