The barber shop at Shinnecock Hills
Though the photo of the barber at the 2022 US Open went viral, it isn’t the first time that barbers were made available at the US Open. During the 2018 US Open, many golfers had access to barbers in the locker room at the Shinnecock Hills.
Montamez and Canillas from a local barbershop near the golf course were called for giving the PGA Tour golfers haircuts during the Major. The two men groomed players of the likes of Bryson DeChambeau, Sam Burns and Zach Johnson only to name a few. The barbers were given a corner in the locker room and had all the necessary tools that they required.
