After a seven-year-long hiatus, the Helsingborg Open has returned to the Ladies European Tour for the 2023 season. The professional women’s golf tournament established in 2010, has been a part of the Ladies European Tour since 2013. The Helsingborg Open has always been exclusively held in Helsingborg, Sweden. Last held in the year 2015, the event is making a return, and has now made a modification to its prize money with its return this year.

Helsingborg Open: prize money and other details

The upcoming Helsingborg Open will be organized between June 2-4 this year. The event will take place at Allerum Golf Club, Sweden. Up until 2015, the prize money for the Helsingborg Open was fixed at $26,8346 although this year, there has been a hike in the same. For 2023, the champion of the Helsingborg Open will bag a whopping prize of $322,015.

The event will kickstart on 31st May with a Golf Exhibition for a cancer foundation. Next up will be a pro-am on June 1st. The first round will be held on June 2nd, followed by the second and third rounds on June 3rd and 4th respectively. The winner of this massive sum of prize money will be disclosed with the final round of the event on the upcoming Sunday.

Golf fans will witness many dedicated European golfers on the green this year for three consecutive days. Famous golfers like Camille Chevalier, Amy Boulden, Casandra Alexander, and others will be seen making a presence at the Allerum Golf Club in the upcoming days. The comeback of the Helsingborg Open after seven long years also takes us back to the last played event in 2015.

A throwback to the 2015 Helsingborg Open 

Last held seven years ago, the Helsingborg event was hosted by the Vasatorp Golf Club, Sweden. High up in the leaderboard, fans found their favorite names such as Malene Jörgensen in third position. Joanna Klatten and Nanna Koerstz Madsen shared T4 during the final round of the 2015 Helsingborg Open.

On top of the leaderboard was Nicole Broch Estrup, who was approached by Ashleigh Simon as the runner-up. Broch grabbed the feat by staying one stroke ahead of Simon, closing the game at 8 under par. She ended up taking €250,000 prize money home. It was the first victory of the defending champion in the Ladies European Tour.
