The third event of the LIV Golf Invitational Series had an enthralling finish. Henrik Stenson, a LIV Golf debutant, won at Bedminster Trump National Golf Club. He carded -11 for the event and maintained his lead to register his first win in the Greg Norman-led league.

Henrik had a tough few weeks after he announced his association with LIV Golf. After his announcement, he was removed from Team Europe’s Ryder Cup captaincy. Due to this, he faced plenty of criticism for joining this league. However, Stenson was tranquil and composed in this situation, and he answered them with his performance on the golf course.

Henrik Stenson gives a hilarious response while talking about Ryder Cup captaincy
Henrik Stenson was named as the skipper of Team Europe for the upcoming Ryder Cup in 2023. However, as soon as he announced that he would be joining the LIV Golf Invitational Series, he was removed from the captaincy post. Hence, after winning the Bedminster event, the interviewer asked him how he handled the pressure and the criticism he faced.

“Thank You. Yeah, I guess we can agree that I played like a captain,” said Henrik, while subtly trolling everyone who removed him from the Ryder Cup captaincy. Stenson has already made it clear that he wants to be with Team Europe for the Ryder Cup in any possible way.

Stenson carded -11 in his debut event under tremendous pressure. He was leading the event going into the final round while maintaining it after the final round. Moreover, in the team event, 4 Aces GC carded a -25 and won the team event for the second consecutive time.

Matthew Wolff had a brilliant final round as he finished runner-up with a score of -9, along with Dustin Johnson. Furthermore, Carlos Ortiz and Patrick Reed finished in 4th and 5th place, respectively.
