After watching the 2021 PNC Championship in December, the entire golf world got convinced that Charlie Woods is capable of continuing the legacy that his father, Tiger Woods, has created. His on-course mannerisms and golf techniques led people and his father to believe that he is more than ready to take over the professional golf world.

As fans of the sport, many got excited to see the G.O.A.T.’s son following in his footsteps. However, Charlie’s mother had a slightly different opinion about having a golfing career like his father.

“Elin worries he’s going to suffocate Charlie,” an insider source told the OK magazine about what Woods’ ex-wife thinks about their son’s career as a golfer. Notably, after the PNC event, the 15-time major champion doesn’t pressurize his son to be a golfer. However, he is “proud of him” and “sees a lot of potential in him.” But his ex-wife doesn’t reciprocate his feelings and has a reason for it.

Does Elin Nordegren want her son to become a pro-golfer?

Born on February 8, 2009, Charlie Axel Woods turned 13 this year. An insider source revealed that the former Swedish model worries about her son being in the spotlight from such a young age.

“She reasons it’s hard enough to be a kid these days without this as added pressure,” the source said. Even though Nordegren doesn’t want Charlie Woods to stress about it, she does not want to put a full stop to his dreams either. “She concedes that it boils down to what Charlie wants,” the source added.

Notably, Charlie Axel Woods has already started trying to become a better golfer like his father. In the 2022 season, the junior golfer has competed in 6 tournaments, in which he has made the cut 4 times.

The unofficial father-son event was the first tournament Tiger Woods played since his car crash in February 2021. Hence, all the eyes of the spectators were upon the Woods team to know about his health conditions.

Team Woods was not able to win the 2021 PNC Championship. However, they tried their best until the end to win the title. Notably, they shot 11 consecutive birdies from holes No. 7 through No. 17, which was a tournament record. Furthermore, the father-son duo made an eagle to finish 15-under par at the 36-hole event.
