Even before the conclusion of the first round of the Rocket Mortgage Classic, Rickie Fowler has the crowd’s attention. How is it possible? Well, the answer lies with the golfer’s gesture. Fowler last year won his sixth PGA Tour title dramatically. He claimed the title after sinking an 11-yard birdie putt on the 18th hole.

What’s more special about that was that it was a long-awaited win for him, which he claimed after 1,610 days to end a four-year drought. Coming to the Detroit Golf Club this year, the 35-year-old is a defending champion. However, even before starting his first round, he met Parker Milkos, a Make-A-Wish recipient, who appeared at the 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic on the extra holes. After that, he met Parker at the US Open this year as well.

Make-A-Wish is a foundation in the United States dedicated to fulfilling the wishes of seriously ill children. WWE star John Cena is one of the first names that comes to everyone’s mind. Parker had his wish granted to meet the defending champion at the Rocket Mortgage Classic through the foundation. Recently the PGA Tour shared a post on Instagram featuring both golfer and Parker captioning “”I wasn’t expecting any of this.” After a surprise meeting @USOpenGolf, Make-A-Wish recipient Parker Milkos found himself caddying for the defending champion.” Remarkably, the golfer took the meeting further by allowing Parker to serve as his caddie for three holes during the practice rounds on Tuesday.

Witnessing these kind gestures from Rickie Fowler and his team, the community came together, flooding the comment section with positive thoughts and reactions toward the golfer.

To ensure fairness, the Make-A-Wish Foundation typically allows children to meet their favorite celebrities only once and occasionally twice, but not more than that. Perhaps alluding to this fact, one fan commented, “What a great thing to do. Lifetime memories.”

This underscores that the time Parker spent with Fowler will remain a cherished memory for him, and the golfer decided to make it even more memorable. Echoing similar sentiments, another fan added, “THIS is the epitome of human kindness and compassion,” highlighting the golfer’s kind-hearted nature.

Last year during the RBC Heritage Tournament at Hilton Head Island, Rickie Fowler met Kyler Aubrey, who had a special passion for golf, particularly for Fowler. The golfer made his day, and reflecting on this gesture, including the latest one, this fan commented, “Rickie is the best guy on the tour! He’s all about the fans! He’s humble!” This highlights Fowler’s consistent kindness towards his fans and willingness to go the extra mile when meeting them. Expressing love and positivity toward these actions from a golfer, this fan said “awesome stuff.”

Reflecting on this, a fan commented, “It’s so cool to see make-a-wish making dreams come true like this,” emphasizing how the foundation successfully fulfilled Parker’s dream.
