Rory McIlroy recently attempted to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational for the second time, but fell short and finished as the runner-up. He has taken on the mantle of an unofficial spokesperson for PGA Tour players, a task that carries significant weight.
Moreover, he has always been vocal in his opposition to the controversial LIV Golf. McIlroy has also demonstrated his leadership skills as a member of the tour’s player advisory council (PAC), where he has been forthright about PGA Tour policies. Recently, the PAC approved some major changes to the schedule, indicating that he has a powerful influence within the organization.
And as with great power comes great responsibility, McIlroy has taken the responsibility to support the PGA Tour when opposers come knocking.

Rory McIlroy has unleashed his wrath on James Hahn for his recent comments. Hahn believes that the recent changes to the schedule of the PGA tour, are schemes to channel more money to the top players.
He feels that the middle-ranked players will not benefit at all from these changes. Furthermore, he believes that nobody should deny that money is not the reason behind the changes. Because, for the last two years, money has been the main issue in the golf industry.

However, these comments did not sit right with McIlroy and he called the 2-time PGA Tour winner out for not attending the PGA Tour players meet. “You say all this s–t and you’re not even in the meeting?”
Moreover, he expressed that to get all the information, Hahn should have attended the meeting. And his absence is a disrespect towards everyone present there. “If you want to get informed and be a part of the process—the fact that he wasn’t even in the room was a slap in the face to everyone there.”
However, the golf world is divided by Rory’s comments. Some support Hahn as they feel. Because they feel he doesn’t have to attend a meeting where he has no say in the decisions. On the other hand, some fans feel it was wrong of Hahn to not attend the meeting.
Is James Hahn playing the tourney? You’re asking a guy to show up at 7:30 am for a meeting he has no say in while you have players in the tourney blowing it off. Seems kind of ridiculous statement.

Let’s be real. The PGA doesn’t care what anyone says other than the top 10 players. Hahn could say 2+2=4 and the tour would disagree. It’s simple as that.

They are just making other excuses as cover for forcing these changes to make more money, more easily at the top, right… Like when LIV guys pretended they went to LIV for team golf, not the money. 🙄

Because James Hahn comes off as someone who is insecure and doesn't like to be challenged. Of course he would skip a meeting where people will ask follow up questions, challenge him, and god forbid in his head be proven wrong.

Hahn is putting himself into the limelight so that he seems like a bigger pickup for Liv than he actually is.

Can't disagree with Rory on this one, if James Hahn wants to speak for the rest of the tour at least show up to the meeting and express your opinion. He rips Peter Malnati for not doing his job, then fails to show up and express his opinion face to face.

That speaks volumes for Hahns intentions he is the type of person who doesn't want to know the facts before he makes and decision for his future. Informed decision making in ones life is the most important aspect of success. He's set up for failure.

Nevertheless McIlroy has secured the full support of PGA Tour Commissioner, Jay Monahan. Monahan spoke highly of McIlroy’s dedication, noting that he recently sat through a seven-hour board meeting.
