PGA Tour pro gets hurled to the ground amidst celebrations

Canada’s Adam Hadwin was one of the many players who was watching the thrilling playoff between Nick Taylor and Tommy Fleetwood with bated breath. After Taylor ended a 69-year-long drought for his country by beating Fleetwood in the fourth playoff hole, Hadwin rushed out onto the green, spraying champagne in the direction of his compatriot.

But the security at the Oakdale Golf and Country Club had other plans for the golfer. The World No. 70 had changed out of his usual golfing apparel and was mistaken as a law-breaking fan as a result. This led to one person in the security brutally tackling him to the ground!

Hadwin later took to Twitter, hours after the entire fiasco, to congratulate Taylor on his win. While he appears to be fine, the tackle has now gone viral on Twitter, inciting the most hilarious responses from fans.

Nick Taylor’s 72-foot eagle putt on the fourth playoff hole on Sunday is undoubtedly going to be talked about for years to come. For a brief moment, however, Adam Hadwin, being tackled by security, stole the limelight away from Taylor’s stellar achievement.

Besides Hadwin, Corey Conners was another Canadian pro who had taken part in the celebrations. The World No. 29 had a good outing as well, tying at T20 along with the likes of Matt Fitzpatrick and Sam Bennett.

Despite his unlucky run-in with the security, Hadwin will take back good memories from the national championship. After all, he himself finished T12 on the leaderboard, taking home $178,650 in earnings. Nick Taylor took home the biggest chunk of the $9 million prize purse, winning a jaw-dropping $1,620,000 for his impressive performance!
