PGA Tour pro’s rekindled love for the game of golf

The Northern Californian native golfer Maverick McNealy has returned to the PGA Tour after his recent hiatus because of his shoulder injury. The player took a four-and-a-half-month break from pro golfing on the Tour, and now the player has returned to the World Wide Technology Championship in Mexico.

In a recent interview, the player talked about what he missed while he was on break. Talking about golfing, the player said that it’s the greatest job on the planet, and sitting at home made him realize that he missed it to the fullest. 

“Sitting out for four months made me realize I missed the travel… I love seeing different parts of the world…hanging out with 50 of the best golfers on the planet and playing practice rounds and $5 birdie games with those guys, testing myself, pushing myself,” the player remarked.

Further adding, McNealy said that he loves being on the greens, outside for six to eight hours a day. He also counted that he missed all the little things he did while on greens. Concluding, he added, “I’m really excited to hit golf shots that matter—like, really matter and really count—and test myself and play that way. It just puts things in perspective for me.”

Now, while the player was away, a lot of new changes have happened in his life. During his time off, McNealy got engaged, and not just that, the player also earned his pilot’s license. Here’s all that happened.

The player, a.k.a., ‘Mr Pilot’ enjoys flying as a hobby. He flies a Cirrus SR20, and although he doesn’t plan to travel extensively for tournaments, he expressed interest in using his piloting skills to attend a few West Coast events in the new golf season. 

The player is going to take the greens this week. What the future holds for him, only time will tell. Till then, stay tuned!
