Steve Williams used to be the caddy of Tiger Woods. But he was not just any caddy; Steve was the caddy with whom Tiger hunted down most of his championship titles. However, their relationship ended abruptly in 2011.

Williams has recently begun a podcast ‘Chasing Majors‘ with golf journalist Evin Priest. The duo discusses the time when Williams caddied for the GOAT and their journey towards each major win. Notably, Tiger has won 15 majors throughout his career, out of which, Steve stood on course with him for 13 of them.

The reason for Williams to open up about his relationship with Tiger Woods

It is the first time Williams had ever done a podcast. So, it was a surprise when he suddenly started a one, which deals with his career span with Tiger. When Steve was asked by Golf.com why he planned to do so, he had a simple reply

“My time with Tiger, it was such a whirlwind that I didn’t ever stop to smell the roses,” Williams said. He explained that his career with Tiger was not a peaceful one. However, he loves to relive those moments. Steve further added, “I’m a golf nut like all of us so I hope golf fans enjoy them.”

 Although their work relationship ended abruptly, without any explanation from the golfer, Steve still respects Tiger. He said, “We were all so lucky to witness what he achieved. I was just happy to be a part of it.”

Why did the duo cut ties? 

Both Steve and Tiger had never actually revealed the real reason for their split. However, there had been some rumors that Tiger fired Steve for caddying another golfer. The golfer had neither confirmed nor denied the story, so it would be impossible to say if it was true.
