At this moment few players are as happy as Rickie Fowler. The orange crush of fans wrapped a phenomenal season in 2023 which was no less than any resurgence. The end was also quite amazing for Fowler who ended up getting selected for the Ryder Cup.

And Fowler has got one reason to be happy about. As the NFL season starts Fowler’s favorite team Detroit Lions will be playing in the upcoming tournaments and sharing the excitement of Fowler on his behalf. And as fans see him in the attire of football they share their opinion on how Rickie will hold up in that sport.

PGA Tour shares Fowler’s excitement for NFL

As is the case with many athletes their love is not confined to just one sport. Similarly, Rickie Fowler is also in love with football. During the Rocket Garage week, he visited the Lions practice facility in Detroit. There he and Maurice Allen practiced with Jared Goff and Amani Oruwariye of the Detroit Lions.

In fact, during the Rocket Garage week, he and Joel Dahmen bought beers as Dahmen promised the same after the Detroit Lions beat the Green Bay Packers in the final week of the NFL season. Fans loved this gesture for the PGA Tour Players.

And now since the NFL season is beginning the players as well as the Tour body are just as excited for the event. Taking to Instagram, the PGA Tour posted two pictures of Fowler. In the first picture, Fowler is wearing a soccer costume and has a ball in his hand. In another, he is jumping eerily.

They captioned it – “Football is 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠. @DetroitLionsNFL, we know a guy.” And fans are as hyped as Fwler and the Tour. Imagining Folwler’s performance as a soccer player, fans are questioning many aspects of his on a soccer field.

While some fans were excited to see it on the ground, other NFL Fans slightly trolled him.

One fan asked how fast Fowler could run 40 yards. “How fast did he run the 40 yard dash? Asking for an internet friend”

“I bet he could throw that pigskin a quarter mile”

One fan made fun of the buckle that Fowler’s belt in the picture

“The belt buckle is tuned for speed”

This fan hoped that Rickie wouldn’t harm himself before the Ryder Cup

“I hope Rick doesn’t pull a hammy before the Ryder Cup!”

One fan of Fowler gave him some credit by remembering his old endeavors,

“Rick played qb in high school and college before becoming a dangerous slot receiver with a quick first step”

Another hoped that he could make a good throw

“You can tell from this pic that throw at max effort is going 17 yards”  While another wished to see a match between McIlroy, Woods, and Hovland. “We need a scramble match with Ricky, Rory,tiger and victor”

Trolls aside Fowler needs a good week to unravel after a long season full of tension and worries. And by September he will be playing in the Ryder Cup. Enjoying football is his choice method of enjoying some free time.
