The opening ceremony of the biennial event turned heads as the two squads made their entry to the grand stage in an exquisite fashion. And, at the center of attention was none other than Charley Hull and her European teammates.

As both the squads took their seats on the stage, the attention of the community came to be focused on a completely different aspect. The various enthusiasts of the sport were quick to express their displeasure at the choice of clothing worn by Hull’s team!

A post was uploaded on the official social media handles of the LET and the LPGA Tour ahead of the start of the first round. The video showcased snippets of the opening ceremony of the biennial event where the players were showered with loads of applause and appreciation.

In contrast to the black attire worn by the American team, Hull’s squad was seen sporting a funny yellowish dress. The garments that they wore received a frenzy of comments from the fans. Considering the magnitude and seriousness of the event, the outfit looked a little bizarre.

The start of the Solheim Cup was marked by the ceremony that took place at the Marbella Arena. As both the teams were welcomed onto the stage, the fans couldn’t help but notice the choice of garments worn by the European team, including Hull, who were called upon by their captain Suzann Pettersen.

It’s safe to say that the European team members had no idea that the choice of their attire wouldn’t sit well with fans who went berserk in the comments sections.

Poor choice of attire has not diminished Cup spirits among European fans

Golf fans were unable to comprehend the logic behind the dress that the Pettersen-led squad wore to the event. They had a lot to say but mind you, not all of them were critical. Let us take a look at some of the comments that were left behind.

A small setback on the clothing line would not stop a true patriot from expressing their love for the country’s team. That is exactly what happened when a golf enthusiast and Team Europe fan expressed their support for the team. “Well that was horrendous.. go team Europe.”

Meanwhile, there were comments that expressed their complete dislike for the attire worn by Hull and her teammates as they took to the stage in their yellowish dresses. They even went on to call it nothing short of atrocious, as they commented: “outfits are heinous lmao who did that.”

A bathrobe is something that a person wears for privacy before taking a shower or cleaning themselves up. One can guess what this golf enthusiast had to say. “In all my time watching the Solheim that must be the worst opening ceremony, not even half-filled stadium, dancing horse? And good god Europe, yellow bath robes? Seriously?

There were also opinions on the ceremony. A follower thought the ceremony was organized in an unskillful or inept manner as they commented, “Rather an amateurish ceremony and what the heck are the European team wearing?”

Another European patriot expressed their displeasure about the ceremony. Moreover, they also took a jab at the dresses while refusing to say anything more about it. “What a sad opening ceremony – shocked! The least said about those European dresses the better 🙈.
