During her interview with Matt Barrie and Michael Collins on ESPN, the former LPGA pro revealed the reason for choosing the format, and what importance it holds for her. She said that she is really excited about the upcoming event. Collins said that he will never forget what West talked about after giving birth to her daughter. Collins reminisced about the time when the LPGA veteran said to Golf Week that she wanted her daughter to see her play. He asked, “Is it why junior golf has become so important to you?”

Replying to Collins, West said, “I think having the junior component for my tournament is really nice. I think for all the players in the field because all the players in the PGA Championship, right now, we’ve all been junior golfers.” She also spoke about how each and every golfer who is playing on the tour is living the fortunate dream of every junior golfer.

Weighing in on the importance of junior golf, the LPGA veteran said, “I just think that it’s just so important. Mizuho is also really aligned on this. We want to advance the next generation, and that’s what everything is all about.” She also said that as parents, the most important thing that people always think to do is advance everything and make the world a better place.

The LPGA’s innovative event is fast approaching. It is scheduled from June 1st to June 4th in Jersey City, with the most stunning views of the Manhattan skyline for the spectators. With just a week remaining until this stunning event, West welcomed the event sponsors, PitchBook Data, on board.
