Hours After Her $1,80,000 Disappointment, Former World No.1 Lydia Ko’s Positive Words Receives Massive Support From Golf Community: ‘You Are the Best’

Lydia Ko may not have emerged as the winner at the latest Aramco Team Series but that hasn’t lessened the love her fans have for her. The second round of the Aramco Series was a jam-packed event. Held at the Trump International Golf Club, West Palm Beach, fans bore witness to one of the pinnacle moments of female golf.

With the hashtag #BringTheEnergy, the Saudi-backed event welcomed mighty female golfers to exhibit their A-level game in Florida. And after three days of two different types of competition, the game successfully concluded with its American round winners. Former World no. 1 Lydia Ko, made it to the top five in both rounds,  but this time could not reach the paramount position. As Ko gracefully accepted her defeat, fans showered her with love and support.

Lydia ranks thirds in both rounds at Aramco Series

In the team round Team Ko, led by Lydia landed in the third position. Her team comprised of Czech golfer, Tereza Melecka, Norwegian golfer Marianne Skarpnorde, and James. The team series was topped by Team Roussin led by France’s Pauline Roussin who also acquired the Individual title at round one held in Singapore in March. The team was awarded with $105000 out of the prize purse of $ 1 million.

Taking home the Individual round trophy and the top prize of $75,000 was Spain’s Carlota Signata as she defeated top players like Lexi Thompson, Lydia Ko, Jessia Korda, and Alison Lee. Ms. Ko ranked T3 in a tie with Germany’s Olivia Cowan with a total of 216 shots.

Fans treat Lydia Ko with overwhelming love and support.

Taking to Instagram, the New Zealand-born golfer declared her ranking in both rounds of the series. Lydia wrote- “3rd for Team Ko and T3rd individually! Not often I get to play in a team format, but really enjoyed the challenge and had a blast playing alongside my teammates @tereza_melecka@mskarpnord & James!”
