The consistent banter between LIV Golf and PGA Tour officials has led to a huge divide between fans as well as golfers. This started after LIV Golf started to become a major threat to the existence of the American League by taking away some of its best players.
However, despite the immense heat between the two Tours, players have now started to make peace with each other. In fact, PGA Tour pro and Masters champion Jon Rahm, recently made an unexpected statement about his old fellow and LIV golf defector Sergio Garcia. But it didn’t take much time for his words to receive a strong response from another LIV star on social media.

Rahm has been winning the hearts with his incomparable performances and unmatched records on the course. The golfer made a whole new pack of fans with his epic major victory at Augusta. Not just that, Rahm has also held the world’s No. 1 position on the OWGR leaderboard for a pretty long time in his career.
Currently getting ready to tee it up at Muirfield Village Golf Club for the Memorial Tournament, Rahm was asked about his opinion on a rather sensational topic during his press conference. And it had everything to do with his old pal, Sergio Garcia not being on the Ryder Cup team. When asked about his thoughts on the situation, he said, “I’m gonna miss him”. The former champion also mentioned how the world named him and Garcia as the “Spanish duo on the Ryder Cup”.

Clearly, the 2020 Memorial Tournament winner wasn’t happy with Garcia not being able to make it to the team. However, Rahm also mentioned how he was deeply affected by the involvement of politics in the game.
“It’s sad to me that politics have gotten in the way of such a beautiful event…It’s the best Europeans against the best Americans.” Rahm said. Notably, his unbiased statements left a huge impact on the fans. In fact, after watching the golfer’s interview, LIV Golf star Ian Poulter, took to Twitter to respond to Rahm’s unfiltered comments about the LIV vs PGA Tour situation.
Ian Poulter’s unexpected response to Jon Rahm
Poulter is probably one of the biggest supporters of the LIV Golf League. But that does not change his love for the authenticity of golf. And so, when he heard Rahm’s upfront statements about the unfortunate involvement of politics in golf, he couldn’t help but show support for the player’s strong words.

Sharing Rahm’s video on his Twitter feed, Poulter wrote, “The only person who gets it.. @JonRahmpga … it’s just golf.. politics aside it’s just golf.” Well, if this doesn’t show harmony among players despite representing rival leagues, nothing more could.
