The much-awaited PGA Championship gets underway this week, with a host of talented players surrounding the Oak Hill East Course. Dustin Johnson claims the throne in the eyes of the PGA Tour pro
Several fans and pundits alike have used social media to state their predictions for the event. And Kim followed the same, with the one-time PGA Tour winner expressing his opinion through his Twitter handle.
In his tweet, the 29-year-old chose Dustin Johnson as his outright victor of the 2023 PGA Championship. Furthermore, Kim also claimed that his pick wasn’t influenced by any inclination to the LIV Golf Series, but was rather based on DJ’s hot form.

Fans were quick to make their remarks on Kim’s tweet. Some were left in shock over his decision and claimed his interest was swayed by the presence of distinct tour bodies.
Picking Dustin Johnson to win this week 😮 doesn’t mean I’m going to LIV, he’s just really good at golf

Dustin Johnson was supposed to be blowing the doors off at LIV. He only has 3 top 10’s on LIV this year (and LIV has yet to play a real course like Oak shill). He was good at golf, but there are many, many better players than him. pic.twitter.com/GKP31vEuVf

Except he’s gonna need the wedge. This ain’t Tulsa. The Texas wedge ain’t happening.

Additionally, others named their own picks who have a chance to win the PGA Championship. Here’s a selection of those tweets:
Agreed, just like all the undervalued LIV guys right now. Brooks, DJ, Gooch, Cam, Phil…

Cam Smith, Cam Young, Brandon Wu
those are the guys who can get it done

Is Dustin Johnson really a favorite to win the PGA Championship?
Indeed, the two-time major championship winner comes to Oak Hill on the back of an amazing victory at LIV Tulsa. The win was Johnson’s inaugural triumph this season, which left his fans celebrating their idol’s resurgence to winning ways days before the PGA Championship began.

However, there has been plenty of skepticism involving the former World No. 1. While the season’s opening major championship at the iconic Augusta National wasn’t deemed a tough track to play upon, the Oak Hills course is considered a much-difficult prospect.
It also stands in the notion that the LIV Golf Series is played on easier courses and doesn’t have the same difficulty level as that of events elsewhere in the country. Will that come back to haunt Johnson during the weekend? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
