LPGA Pro expresses enthusiasm for baseball

After her selection for this year’s Solheim Cup, Angel Yin is beyond excited. But before that, she is participating in this week’s Kroger Queen City Championship at Kenwood Country Club, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Yin has her focus over there as well.

She has reached the course and is ready to tee it up from Thursday. But Yin is also looking to cool off some pressure by exploring the city and attending a live match of baseball. During the event’s press conference when asked about what she enjoyed about being in Cincinnati last year, Yin replied that she didn’t explore it much last time.

And this time she hopes to make up for it. “This year I will enjoy the city a little more. I was hoping to get some tickets to the baseball game – for free — but nothing is free in this world I’ve realized, so I’m going to go buy tickets.”  Last year also Yin participated in the Kroger Queen and was tied T24 at the end of the tournament.

Angel Yin is a seasoned hand at the Solheim Cup

This won’t be Yin’s first time at the prestigious Cup. In 2017 she attracted attention as a captain’s pick by Juli Inkster for the Solheim Cup. She made 1.5 points in three matches for the winning USA side. Yin was again a member of the 2019 Solheim Cup but the team lost by 14.5-13.5 at Gleneagles. Although she did win two points from three matches. This year she is again part of the team and her previous experience will be a big aid for her.

Yin is having a strong year so far. She has had good results in the majors as well. She was in the top 20 at the AIG Women’s Open and Amundi Evian Championship. Now she hopes for an even better result this week ahead of the all-important Solheim Cup.
