Issuing an official statement, Barstool Sports wrote, “WE ARE BEYOND DEVASTATED TO ANNOUNCE THAT OUR DEAR FRIEND AND BELOVED BARSTOOL SPORTS COLLEAGUE. COOY “BEEF’ FRANKE. PASSED AWAY FROM A SUDDEN MEDICAL ISSUE OVER THE WEEKEND.” The statement further continued, highlighting Franke’s love and passion for the sport. It further described him as the ‘universally known nicest guy in the world.’

At the time of this tragic incident, the Barstool Sports personality was said to be in the Dominican Republic. He was attending a wedding when Franke’s colleague, Dan ‘Big Cat’ Katz, broke the devastating news. Speaking about his friend, Katz struggled to articulate his thoughts. Now, while there are a lot of answers left unanswered, a quick look at ‘Beef’s career will reveal how much he loved golf. The 31-year-old himself was a former PGA professional. 

And while he joined Barstool Sports only this year, Franke soon became a fan favorite. His content on the Fore Play podcast resonated significantly with the audience. And soon, the content creator gained a massive fan following, all of whom were left stunned by the incident. Reacting to the news, founder Dave Portnoy looked shell-shocked. He wrote, “It’s hard to even process it right now. Just another cruel reminder that tomorrow is never promised. Live each day to its fullest.” Meanwhile, with such news emerging, Franke’s family shared their heartbreak. 

Cody ‘Beef’ Franke’s Demise Shatters His Family

Soon after the news emerged, the Barstool Sports personality requested privacy to process the irreparable loss. However, as per sources close to the family, his near and dear ones were grateful towards the fans and the golfing community for supporting the family significantly in hard times. Barstool Sports’ representatives shared a brief message stating that the family “thankful for everyone’s kind messages and prayers during this painful time.” 

At the moment, no official news of a funeral or a memorial date has been shared. However, sources have disclosed that the family is likely to hold a private service before inviting the public at a later date. Meanwhile, the family has also asked Franke’s fans to freely share his life stories on the internet and preach to people about how much the content creator loved to spread smiles across people’s faces.
