Nonetheless, all this money is still not close enough to the earnings of Tiger Woods. The 15-time Major Champion. Forbes revealed earlier this year that Tiger has officially crossed the Billion dollar mark to join the ranks of Michael Jordan and LeBron James to become athletes with billionaire status.

Woods has won nearly $121 million in prize money, more than any other pro golfer in the world. He held the top spot in Forbes’ highest-paid athletes for 10 consecutive years until 2012. Yet, less than 10% of Woods’ career earnings come from his golf winnings. Most of his wealth stems from endorsements with brands such as Nike, Gatorade, Rolex, and Monster Energy, according to Forbes. All these deals have helped Woods in having a net worth of $1 Billion.

Both stars are also involved in plenty of side businesses that have helped in boosting their net worth. Moreover, Tiger and Phil have donated millions to people in need through their foundations.

Will Mickelson takeover Woods’ net worth?

If you asked this question a year ago, the answer would be quite evident that Mickelson will not be able to reach the financial status of Woods. However, with Lefty joining the LIV Golf for a 9-figure deal, the odds have become a lot more favorable than in the past.

Most of Tiger Woods’ earnings have come in the past when the golfer was still in his prime. However, Mickelson’s recent earnings from the LIV Golf are a reflection of thinking the unthinkable. Despite that, Lefty is still nearly more than $700 million away from the net worth of Tiger. So at the moment, Phil Mickelson is far away from Tiger Woods in terms of net worth.

Regardless of their income and controversies, the fans love the duo for their top-notch golf talent. With a combined number of 21 Majors won by both the stars, their accolades alone depict their contribution and dedication to the sport.
