Tiger Woods has been a top professional golfer for more than two decades, giving him the opportunity to play golf alongside many Presidents of the United States. However, Tiger’s relationship with Donald Trump goes back long before the business tycoon was appointed as the 45th POTUS. Just a few days before taking control over the Oval Office in 2017, Trump had the opportunity to play golf with Woods. What did Woodshave to say about the ex-President’s golf skills?

Donald Trump has been a key figure in the world of golf. His golf courses around the world, owned under the banner “The Trump Organization”, have been hosting several PGA Tour events in the past. However, moving forward, the Trump golf courses will host the LIV Golf tournaments.

Apart from his golf endeavors, the former President is also an avid golfer himself. He has participated in several Pro-Am tournaments over the years. So when the 76-year-old played golf with Tiger Woods, it left the golfer stunned by how great Trump is at golf.

Tiger Woods is impressed by Donald Trump’s golf swing

As Trump was prepping for the Presidential election, Tiger too was getting ready for the upcoming 2016-17 PGA Tour season. The golfer was figuring out the most suitable golf clubs for his game. During the testing process, he got the opportunity to play golf with his friend Donald Trump at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, as the duo was paired for a round.

After their round together, Tiger Woods shared a lengthy post on his website, stating how impressed he was by Trump’s golfing skills. Moreover, Woods praised Trump’s long drive shots, despite being more than 70 years of age. “What most impressed me was how far he hits the ball at 70 years old. He takes a pretty good lash”, Tiger wrote.

Woods also disclosed that they had a fun discussion. He wrote, “Our discussion topics were wide-ranging; it was fun. We both enjoyed the bantering, bickering and needling”. In the end, the 15-time Major winner revealed how Trump was enjoying watching Tiger experiment with his different golf clubs.

Tiger Woods also mentioned that they didn’t play a match and were simply enjoying the sport. He said, “ … We didn’t have a match and played for fun. I was testing drivers and fairway woods, and changed some settings. I think he enjoyed seeing the difference in shots when you experiment.” When Woods said Trump is good at golf, he isn’t wrong. The 45th President of the United States has a handicap of 2.8, making him the American President with the best handicap.

Two years after becoming the President, Trump decided to honor Tiger Woods with the Medal of Freedom. More so, the two have maintained a great relationship for so many years. However, with Trump’s involvement in LIV Golf, it is unclear how PGA Tour loyalist Tiger feels about it.
