How is Charlie Woods Playing at Augusta National Despite Not Being a Member?

It is not a secret that not anybody can play at the popular Augusta National Golf Club! Even professional golfers need to get an invitation to compete at the Masters. Then how did Charlie Woods, son of Tiger Woods, was spotted playing on the exclusive course?

According to Bob Harig, the golf writer for Sports Illustrated, Charlie and Justin Thomas were hitting balls on the range of Augusta.

Known for its exclusivity, the Augusta National doesn’t allow everyone to play on its course. The easy way to get into the club is either get a membership or get invited for the Masters. Since young Woods don’t have any of them, he would need other options to be able to play at the Augusta.

According to Golf Week, there are a few ways to play at the course. And getting invited by a member is one of them. However, despite being a 5-time champion at the Masters, Tiger Woods doesn’t have a membership at the Augusta.

The other option for Charlie to play at the Augusta would be to become a volunteer. However, since the Masters is a major, many would be in line to get a chance to volunteer there.

Although there are many criteria to follow to play on the course, Charlie was just hitting balls on the range. Since Tiger is a five-time champion, and Charlie has accompanied him to the course, it won’t be difficult for him to practice on the range. And for an aspiring golfer like him, even a practice session at the Augusta would mean so much.

Although he is just a 13-year-old, the golf world is waiting for Charlie to turn pro. After his performance in the 2021 PNC Championship, in which the father-son duo won the second prize, people are convinced that he is the next Tiger to look out for.

Furthermore, he was the runner-up at the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour at the Disney Junior Open. He competed in the 11-13 age group category and scored an overall 3 over par 147
