Luke Donald, the European team’s Ryder Cup captain, celebrated his wife’s birthday in 2024 and shared an emotional message for her, Diane Antonopoulos: “Happy Birthday to my Queen – The most beautiful person inside and out. Always up for an adventure & her happiness comes from bringing joy to others. She’s an incredible momma too – We love you very much 💙.”  But for a golfer who opened up the second men’s major strongly, the support in and out of the course also comes from his children.

The love story of Diane Antonopoulos and Luke Donald began at Northwestern University in Illinois, where Luke pursued art and Diane focused on psychology. Two years after they graduated, they began dating and got engaged in June 2006. The couple then celebrated their wedding a year later on June 24, 2007, in beautiful Santorini, Greece, Diane’s hometown.

Luke Donald and Diane Antonopoulos welcomed their first child in 2010, a daughter named Elle. The following year, the happy couple welcomed their second child, Sophia Ann Donald, on November 11, 2011. Considering the birth of his second daughter, Luke Donald did not play in the 2011 WGC-HSBC Champions in Shanghai to be next to his wife and daughters. Talking about his fatherhood, Donald said in a 2011 interview, “Family does put a lot of things into perspective. My job is very important but the family out-trumps everything.”  Undoubtedly, Luke Donald takes his family duties very seriously.

However, happiness returned to the Donald family in 2014 with the birth of their third daughter, Georgina. Sadly, Diana had a tough pregnancy with Georgina because she was born early. Despite this, the little girls have always supported their father. For example, at the 2017 Honda Classic, Luke Donald’s daughters came to the course to cheer him on after school. In fact, the daughters were also present when Luke Donald led the European team to celebrate their Ryder Cup win in 2023. However, the golfer’s love for his daughters and wife is also evident on his Instagram.

Luke Donald shares love for his family even on social media

The happy couple shared their latest update early this month. Luke Donald and his wife Diane Antonopoulos had an amazing time in Limerick, enjoying the beautiful sunny weather, tasty soda bread, and a fun sing-along!

They stayed at the lovely Adare Manor, explored the picturesque village, and enjoyed a few pints of Guinness in Bunratty, County Clare. They even tried their hand at archery and savored the soda bread at Adare Manor, which holds a special place in Antonopoulos’ heart. Updating her Instagram about the moment, Antonopoulos said, “Is there anywhere better when the sun is shining than Ireland? An absolute dream from start to finish.” 

However, Luke Donald doesn’t shy away from updating his fans about his family moments either. In 2024, the English golfer celebrated Christmas with his family and shared a photo with his fans with the caption: “Christmas things 🎁🎄🐶.” Before that, in early December, the Englishman enjoyed some family time at the beach. Updating his fans about the same with a few pictures and videos, he shared, “Incredible few days with my girls and the most amazing sunsets – plenty to be thankful for 🧡.” 

However, the love in the family extends to their little dog, Archie Rock Donald, as well. The family welcomed Archie in their family in 2021 and celebrated his 1st birthday on August 25, 2022, with Donald updating his Instagram with a picture of Archie and a caption: “Happy 1st birthday to our gorgeous boy @archierockdonald. He’s brought so much joy to our family over the last 10 months 🐶.” In fact, they even have a different account for Archie! It goes without saying that love goes all around in the Donald family!
